Mixed emotions at last Thursday's run as the Harriers did a literal foodbank run! Roughly 20 of our members picked up packets of rice, pasta and cerals, cartons of milk, tins for vegetable, fish and meat from our regular starting point at Boundary park and ran them all to our local food bank about a mile away.
For the Harriers it was a fun and rewarding experience to load up with food and to donate it to those most in need whilst also using the fiirst mile as extra strength training but arriving at the food bank it was fairly disheartening to hear how many families in the local area have to rely on this service.
We are really proud of all of our members who donated items and helped to take it all to the foodbank and hope we can make this a more regular occurance.
