COVID-19 Coronavirus - Latest Information

September 2020: The new 'rule of 6' has been introduced in order to combat the spread of Coronavirus. England Athletics is pleased that club and group activity as well as competitions for athletics and running will not be affected by the new restrictions on the number of people allowed to meet up. The Government has now confirmed to Sport England that organised sports and activities which have been through return to play protocols will be allowed to continue as before. Harwell Harriers has undertaken Risk Assessments of all of our running routes, which members can find in the 'Members' area of the website.

August 2020: Following guidelines from England Athletics, club sessions have resumed but they do look different to normal. Registered athletes with the club will receive a weekly email with a link to book onto sessions for the following week. At the moment, we can cater for 24 athletes on Tuesday and the same again on Thursday. We will then operate a waiting list system. Virtual sessions will continue to be provided for those who are not attending club. Please DO NOT attend club without first having booked onto a session.

March 2020: Following on from the press conference earlier today regarding COVID-19, the committee has taken the tough decision to cancel club sessions until further notice. We will be in touch with England Athletics and follow their guidelines on running clubs. Your safety is our main priority.

We realise that it is important for your health to still get out in the fresh air and run, which is why we have liaised with our coaches to provide you with sessions under our Facebook page. If you do not have access to Facebook then please let us know and we will email these out to you.

We will be in touch when sessions are back on and will keep you informed of developments.
